Here are some popular protein sources for fitness enthusiasts
Protein is all the rage these days amongst the fitness and health industry.
Be it shakes, smoothies, meals or snacks, everyone is asking questions about protein!
What are the best sources of protein? Are meat proteins better than fish?
Today, I will give you 3 of my top go-to protein sources for a clean energy boost and to help aid in my recovery after a long day or after bouts of exercise.
Source number 1
Fresh seafood.
Seafood will always be number 1 on my personal list, for many good reasons too.
One of these reasons is how low in fat the majority of seafood is.
It is very inexpensive and pound for pound absolutely trumps meat sources when it comes to vitamins and mineral content.
It also has less of a carbon footprint so this gives a positive feeling when consuming it.
Try changing out your weekly meat meals with seafood instead and benefit from the switch!

Source number 2
Macadamia nuts.
A fantastic source of protein.
Although they are not as high in protein as most meat or seafood sources, macadamia nuts boast a whole host of awesome healthy nutrients and a good serving of muscle building protein in each serving.
The only downside is you don't want to consume too many in one sitting due to the high calorie content.
Don't be afraid of the fat content of this food as the majority of the fats it contains are good sources and will benefit your health.
Try adding 1 handful of these nuts to your diet 3-4 times per week.
Source number 3
Tinned fish.
One of the world's most consumed foods are tinned fish.
One of the reasons for this is the great convenience! Literally pull open the tin and enjoy.
Can be consumed anywhere and added to nearly any meal, at home or on the go.
Fresh is the better option but buying fresh fish daily can be hard, not always convenient and quite expensive.
I recommend mixing it up weekly - 2 times a week tinned tuna or sardines and 1-2 times a week fresh fish is an option.
The omega 3 fatty acids along with an abundance of body healthy nutrients make tinned fish such as tuna, sardines and anchovies a great addition to anyone's diet.
