Some basic points to remember when starting an exercise programme
Hi everyone
Starting exercise for the very first time, or even after a long break, we often ask ourselves all sorts of questions such as:
"What type of exercise should I start with?"
"Do I continue where I left off or do I start from the beginning?"
"Do I need to change my diet?"
So, today let's go over 3 of our most important rules to get you exercising!
Rule number 1
Start light, don't jump straight in the deep end!
This is the most important thing, knowing what your fitness levels are and what your body is capable of before trying anything too strenuous.
Don't get too ambitious too quickly, be realistic and set achievable goals.
Start with basic body weight exercises, then as you slowly progress and gain strength, you can start adding light resistance to your exercises.
It is important to get the body used to performing regular exercise patterns before we try to increase the level and add resistance.
Rule number 2
Keep a log of your exercise activity.
This will not only help you to remember what exercises and workouts to perform, it will allow you to keep track of how you are progressing throughout your journey.
It' a great reminder when you're in need of motivation so you can see how far you have come and that you are doing well!
Rule number 3
Enjoy it!
This is the golden rule.
