Here our 'for mums' specialist Rachel gives a review of a new product from Gemma Hall of Waist Trainer
So this week I found a new product that is aimed at ladies who want to tone up their waist, and get an extra bit of support when doing core training.
The product I have been testing is the Tomashe waist trimmer sports workout belt, which I have tested over the past week, and I must say I’m really impressed.
Having had two major back operations and being very physically active, I find this belt provides all the support I need.
Made of neoprene, it has a two-tier tightening mechanism so you attach the first velcro strip comfortably and then tighten it with a second strip.
The four bones at the back sit nicely either side of the spine and help align the body.
The abdominal muscles are certainly held tightly and remind you to engage at all times. So it's not just a case of getting the trimmer to do all the heavy lifting - it helps you to remember to work with your core strength building as well.
The warmth provided by the waist trimmer means that the muscles can work effectively within a very short period of time.
I have tried using this for runs and when working out at home.
Personally, I find it a bit uncomfortable using it for strength exercises such as curl ups or anything that requires the spine to curve but it is really good when I run.
I don’t do heavy weight training but I’m sure this could assist if you need that extra bit of support in your back and as a reminder to use your abdominals.
In essence this is a great product for people who require that little reminder to engage your core whilst exercising.
It keeps your back warm which means the muscles can work more effectively and it looks stylish so you won’t mind showing it off in the gym, or anywhere else!
